I have been teaching music in central Maryland in various capacities since 2001. I love providing opportunities and guidance for youth to develop musically!
I also enjoy finding new opportunities to grow as a musician and as a teacher. This summer I just finished my Master's degree in Conducting at American Band College in Ashland, Oregon. I also play in Baltimore's Marching Ravens and the Category 5 Wind Ensemble, in addition to teaching privately and at Powhatan and Riverview Elementaries in Baltimore County.
I primarily teach private clarinet and low brass lessons, either in my students' homes, in mine in Columbia, or at their schools by arrangement with the band director. I've worked with students on their band music, technical etudes, duets, and solo work. One of my favorite challenges is readying students for honor band auditions and for Solo and Ensemble; these were some cherished experiences as a student musician myself, so I'm excited to pass those on. I am also available for group lessons, or even clinics in area schools.
